Somewhere Out There

I have a red planet, or so I am told. It's called Miegla Englordip.

Lara has a pink rocket. She also has a pink planet. They are both called Caesar Glarza. Notably, the planet has chairs. Pink chairs and blue chairs. Orbiting it, at a fair distance, are 4 moons. Two yellow, one green, and one tiny moon which is also green.

Every night after going to bed, Owen turns invisible before going to the shed, unlocking the shed, and fetching all the equipment he needs to build a special and important machine. This is what he uses to transport himself across time and space to SuperBugFishLand. The machine is not unlike a green plastic garden chair, with the legs chopped off. The chair comes fully equipped with a safety harness (my red bungee chord) and the device is propelled by an enormous jet engine bin (which looks a little like the bin that I use in the shed). Cleverly disguised as black plant pots, in between the seat and the bin, are "shooters - in case there are any comets in the way". Owen points out that an important part of the superstructure is a large wooden cube that is under the seat, as well as "some grey string that holds the red thing". Apparently, the device is powered by a magic spell from a good witch, & Owen doesn't need a spacesuit because he can breathe both in space & in SuperBugFishLand.

I love kids' imaginations.

At the moment, Owen thinks that his baby sibling will be a baby brother, which he thinks should be named Newo Aral. Lara, thinks that she will have a baby sister called Newo Echo. Hmmm, interesting.

A Note-Worthy Week

This week Lara had her first swimming lesson. The instructor commented that she was so excited by the realisation that, not only did she float, but by paddling she could actually move, that she was a little reluctant to return to the side of the pool to receive instructions!

A bee also stung Lara, who was curious and wanted to pick it up. We also had family visits to both the dentist and the cinema, which were fun. Lara was in her element with unlimited access to her bag of chocolate stars, generously sharing them, even when not requested. Owen was a little harder to prise from his toffee popcorn. He also found the prospect of seeing Buzz Lightyear melt down in a fiery furnace a little disturbing :S

Owen returned from the cinema and asked for his tool bag (from G.Aunt Jo & Fam). I don't know where the idea came from, but he had a plan and was on a highly focused mission. He drew some pencil lines on some wood and told me where he wanted me to saw them, and before I new it, he had designed and built a bird table!!

This evening he walked into the room after brushing his teeth and declared "I've put my brain behind the radiator in the bathroom because it's too stupid and I've put it there to grow". Er ... OK. LOL.
